He has also been a speaker, lecturer, panelist, and reactor in various workshops and symposiums. Starzl Transplant Institute in Pittsburgh, USA and at the Dumont-UCLA Transplant Center in Los Angeles, USA. One of Marco's specialty is in the management of chronic wounds. He has established one of the leading wound care centers in Asia. He is a founding member of the Philippine Wound Care Society.
Bong is a vascular and endovascular surgeon with extensive experience in the field. He is a member of the Board of Trustees for the Philippine Society for Vascular and Endovascular Surgeons (PSVES) and a Fellow of both the PSVES and the Philippine Society for Vascular Surgeons. Additionally, he is an associate member of the Philippine Society of Ultrasound for Surgeons and a founding member of the Philippine Wound Care Society. He has presented research on a variety of topics, including the use of Epidermal Growth Factor (rh-EGF) for diabetic foot ulcers, the role of breast cancer characteristics in determining positive sentinel lymph node biopsy results, and the management of impalement injuries of the chest. He has also participated in a number of seminars and workshops on topics related to vascular surgery.
